The Northern Virginia Center is located in the heart of Northern Virginia -just off Route 7 and I-66, adjacent to the West Falls Church Metro and next to George Mason High School.

By Car:

If going northbound on the Capital Beltway (I-495 inner loop):

  • Take Exit 49B to I-66* East.
  • From I-66*, take Exit 66 to Route 7 East (Leesburg Pike).
  • Turn left at the first light onto Haycock Road. The Virginia Tech Northern Virginia Center is on your left next to the George Mason High School.
  • At the second left turning lane at the first light, in front of the Virginia Tech Northern Virginia Center, turn left into the West Falls Church Metro Station Parking Area. At the first stop sign turn left into the Center guest parking area.

If going southbound on the Capital Beltway (I-495 outer loop):

  • Take Exit 47B to Route 7 East (Leesburg Pike).
  • Remain on Route 7 for approximately 2.5 miles, passing under Route 66.
  • Turn left at the next light onto Haycock Road. The Virginia Tech Northern Virginia Center will be on your left.
  • At the second left turning lane at the first light, in front of the Virginia Tech Northern Virginia Center, turn left onto the West Falls Church Metro Station Parking Area. At the first stop sign turn left into the Center guest parking area.

Metrorail:

Take the Orange Line to the West Falls Church Metro Station. The Virginia Tech Northern Virginia Center is located 100 yards southwest of the Metro station across the parking lot.

Metrobus:

Take Route 3B, 3F, 3W, 3Z, 28A, or 28B to the West Falls Church Metro Station. The Virginia Tech Northern Virginia Center is located across the parking lot, southwest of the Metro station. For specific information about Metro bus scheduling, call (202) 637-7000.

Fairfax Connector bus:

Take Route 5S to the West Falls Church Metro Station. The Virginia Tech Northern Virginia Center is located southwest of the Metro station, across the parking lot. For specific information on bus scheduling, call Fairfax Connector at (703) 339-7200

Directions to Georgetown University

From Richmond and points South

Follow I-95 north to I-395 north. Continue on I-395 north approximately 6 miles to the Washington Boulevard (Virginia Route 27) exit. Take the second Washington Boulevard exit (Exit 8B, exit to the right) and follow the signs to U.S. Route 50 East-Rosslyn. Continue approximately 1.5 miles to the Key Bridge exit (right lane exit). Take the Key Bridge exit and cross the Key Bridge. Move to the left lanes as you cross the Key Bridge. Key Bridge ends at M Street -- turn left onto M Street (which becomes Canal Road). Continue on M Street/Canal Road several blocks, staying in the right lane.  Pass the lower construction entrance to Georgetown University.  Veer right at the traffic light onto Foxhall Road.  Take Foxhall Road to the third traffic light (Reservoir Road).  Turn right onto Reservoir Road and go down about 1/2 mile to Entrance #1 of Georgetown University.  Turn right into Entrance #1. Pay parking lots are located in several locations adjacent to Entrance #1;  the open air surface lot (Lot A) on the left, the Medical Center lot on the right, or straight ahead to the Leavey Center Garage.

From Baltimore and points North

Follow I-95 South to Washington's Capital Beltway (I-495) and take I-495 West, then (and the next part is dependent on the time you are driving to Georgetown)

BEFORE 9 A.M. MONDAY-FRIDAY

Continue on I-495 West/South to the Cabin John Parkway (east)  [Exit #40]  which becomes the Clara Barton Parkway (east). Continue east on the Clara Barton Parkway approximately 4 miles to Canal Road (the Clara Barton Parkway becomes Canal Road). Continue down Canal Road approximately 4 miles to the Key Bridge-M Street intersection (you will pass the University up on the hill to your left). Staying in the left lane, continue on M Street several blocks to the traffic light at 33rd Street.  Go one block up to Prospect Street, turn left.  Go two blocks over to 35th Street turn right onto 35th Street.  Go about 1/4 mile or so up to the traffic light at Reservoir Road.  Turn left at Reservoir Road and go down two traffic lights to Entrance #1 of Georgetown University. Turn left into Entrance #1. Pay parking lots are located in several locations adjacent to Entrance #1;  the open air surface lot (Lot A) on the left, the Medical Center lot on the right, or straight ahead to the Leavey Center Parking Garage.


AFTER 9 AM MONDAY-FRIDAY AND ON WEEKENDS.

Continue on I-495 west to the George Washington Memorial Parkway (the first exit in Virginia after crossing the Potomac River--be in the far right lane after crossing the bridge). Continue on the Parkway approximately 9 miles south to the Key Bridge exit (the exit will be to your right up a sharp incline). Remember, this route can only be used after 9:00 a.m. on weekdays because the ramp is closed during rush hour). The exit ramp will lead up to Key Bridge. Veer right onto the Key Bridge and continue across the bridge, moving to the left lanes. Key Bridge ends at M Street -- turn left onto M Street (which becomes Canal Road). Continue on M Street/Canal Road several blocks, staying in the right lane.  Pass the lower construction entrance to Georgetown University.  Veer right at the traffic light onto Foxhall Road.  Take Foxhall Road to the third traffic light (Reservoir Road).  Turn right onto Reservoir Road and go down about 1/2 mile to Entrance #1 of Georgetown University.  Turn right into Entrance #1.
