admission requirements
It is anticipated that the successful applicant will have received a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in the United States or the equivalent from an international college or university, with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale, and with a minimum of 40 credit hours of science that should include the following:
- Inorganic or General Chemistry
- Organic Chemistry
- Biology
- Physics
- Calculus
For non-U.S. applicants, TOEFL test results with a minimum score of 550 (paper-based test), 213 (computer-based test), or 80 (internet test) or IELTS test results with a minimum score of 7.0 is required.

Application to the program can be made to either university. The university with which the student chooses to enroll will be the “home” university, and will be the entity from which the student enrolls for classes, receives billing, manages courses (such as drop-add) and contacts for information such as a transcript. The degree will be from both universities regardless of the university through which the application was made.
Application to either university requires:
- Completed Application Form
- Application Fee
- Statement of Purpose (500 words)
- Official Sealed Transcripts
- Graduate Record Examination- General Test (Results sent to the university from Educational Testing Service)
- 3 Letters of Recommendation
- English Language Proficiency test results (for foreign students)
